Smartphone (iPhone, Android, Blackberry) setup information
As smartphones are becoming more common, we are finding there has been an increase in the number of requests to give employees the information they need to setup their smartphone to receive work email. While we cannot begin to support every phone on the market or give step by step directions for each type of phone, we can provide our staff with the information needed to setup a smartphone. Our email system only supports Exchange Activesync/OWA, we do not support POP3 or IMAP email. Most smartphones allow you to setup Exchange email on them, but Blackberry requires you to login into the wireless carrier's Blackberry website to setup Exchange email. Please contact your wireless carrier's support line for help setting up the email or consult the phone's manual.
Here is the information needed:
Username: This would be your WPS email address, for example firstname.lastname@example.org
Password: This is the same password you use to log into the WPS web email.
Email address: This would be your WPS email address, for example email@example.com
Email server: The format of this varies by phone, some will take outlook.office365.com, others will take https://outlook.office365.com If it asks whether or not to use secure connection (SSL) make sure that is checked.
